Dear Group,

Most of us are developing on systems that are similar if not identical
to the EVM.

Do you think its about time one of us started a proper site/Wiki for
this platform? We have a lot of questions that are repeatedly asked,
files that are frequently requested and it is a real pain having to keep
trawling through the mailing lists to see what has already been done (or
often half done!)

The results of about 30 seconds of Internet (google) research reveals
three similar projects.

The Neuros page is relatively informative:-

Or Perhaps Nintendo DS Linux:-

http://www.dslinux.org/wiki/Main_Page

Or how about gumstix?:-

At least with a central repository we could cover issues with regards to
our platform such as building filesystems, cross compiling,
scratchboxing over userful apps etc...

I understand all this information is out there in Linuxland, but it is
often a quantum leap getting it actually working on the EVM!

I understand all these other platforms are a lot cheaper to get into,
and perhaps adds to their stronger Internet presence, but Ti is a big
box and could get this started overnight! I am sure most of you have had
to use their website or MontaVistas, I do not think utter drivel is too
strong a phrase. Its almost embarrassing seeing how fast some of these
'lesser' platforms/projects are getting moved along.

I throw it open to the forum, lets hear your views? I will get my
asbestos underpants in readiness for the flames!

Regards,

Andrew
