Hi all,
I've been skimming through all the posts that talked about creating a JFFS2
filesystem on the NOR flash. I got bits here and there from all you posts but
I'm still confused and unclear as how to do it.
Just FYI, you would do this the same way as for any other Linux system.
There is nothing DaVinci- or DVEVM-specific about it.
The references that I've used when working with JFFS2 (and hence MTD) in
the past are the following. I've found them to contain all of the neces-
sary info.
In no particular order:
- linuxppc-embedded message on Preferred way to configure MTD physical map-
ping and partitioning
<http://ozlabs.org/pipermail/linuxppc-embedded/2006-May/023037.html>
- Embedded Linux - Managing Flash Memory
<http://www.ssiembedded.com/embedded_linux_managing_memory.html>
(is a much better MTD FAQ than the official one)
- HOW-TO for MTD / JFFS2 in uClinux
<http://www.enseirb.fr/~kadionik/embedded/uclinux/mtd/howto_mtd.html>
- MTD project (storage system on memory chips)

- Linux MTD, JFFS HOWTO
<ftp://ftp.uk.linux.org/pub/people/dwmw2/mtd/cvs/mtd/mtd-jffs-HOWTO.txt>
- Flash and uClinux Forge A Powerful Mix (COTS Journal, April 2003, p. 31)

- Find your Root File System with MTD

(written for uClinux, but generally not uClinux-specific)
