The DM644x supports 32MB NOR devices only when operating in 16-bit mode.
In this case the EM_BA[0] pin is not needed to access individual bytes
(since all accesses are now 16-bits wide) and so instead it is
repurposed as the upper most address line. SO you'll still have only 24
address lines, but since all accesses are 2-bytes wide, you can address
the entire 32MB space.

Note that the EVM uses a 32 MB flash chip, but only 16 MB of it is
accessible due to the way the EM_BA[0] line is routed. Please don't ask
me why this was done, because I don't know :)

Daniel

Subject: Bigger NOR

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has managed to use the larger 32MB NOR chips
on their EVM. As far as I can tell the EVM does not have the address
lines to do this?

Regards,

Andrew
