Thanks a lot. That is what we tried first. The kernel and the filesystem did boot up successfully, but we had a lot of errors. Each time the errors also varied, though it would boot successfully each time.
For example, we got a series of warnings like this: CLEAN MARKER node found at 0x00074000 has totlen 0xc != normal 0x0 We found that we do not need Clean marker for jffs2 as it uses the oob area. So used the -n option in mkfs.jffs2. After this, we got a series of warnings like this: Empty flash at 0x001d3ffc ends at 0x001d4000 We checked that the erase size (16KB)we specify in the mkfs.jffs2 was right. We also tried to give an erase size of 32 KB with 2 blocks of 16 KB If we reboot this, it gives a different warning abt some ECC read failed. Could you throw some light on why this might be happening? The nandwrite was always successful. Only during the reboot with rootfstype=jffs2 threw out all these different warnings.
