Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if I understand this properly as I am
pretty new to video work. I don't know if I really mean SVGA I just want to
display video that I have resized to 800x600 but the screen I have doesn't
display it properly. So I have been given an old PC monitor with BNC connectors
on the back for RBG and I want to connect that to the DVEVM. If I do need the
SYNC signals can't they be generated by the DVEVM?
Thanks,
Euan

Hi Euan,

I haven't done it for VGA, but I don't think you can create an SVGA
signal with just the DACs on-board, as it needs separate HSYNC and VSYNC
signals.

http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/spraan0/spraan0.pdf describes an add-on board
which can modulate an SVGA signal for you, using a THS8200.

I have used component (YPbPr) and S-Video by specifying in bootargs:
        video=davincifb:output=pal:format=component
(or replace component with s-video).

HTH,
Bernard.
