This seems more complex than I anticipated. I searched TI's website
for related application notes but did not find anything. You mentioned
CPLD code so I'm trying to figure out what this CPLD is.

I've started searching on application notes for how to connect the
VPBE to an LCD. There is a 50 pin header labeled "video out" on the
Spectrum Digital photo of the DM355 DVEVM, is this something that can
be wired directly to a 7" TFT 16-bit TTL LCD. I am searching for
compatible LCDs as well.
