If the boot settings are set to "DSP self-boot" the DSP power domain is
automatically switched to ON in hardware, the ARM does not need to run
for that. If the DSP boot setting is in 'ARM boot' mode, the DSP is kept
in power-off and in reset, it must be controlled by the ARM.

In "DSP sel-boot" the ARM and DSP will start booting in parallel, using
the AEMIF interface. The DSP boots at another address than the ARM, so a
NOR-flash would have to contain two images. See the DM6446 datasheet
(SPRS283) for this. When you have a NOR-flash connected, this goes OK.
The DSP cannot boot from NAND-Flash and so it SHOULD NOT not be in
'self-boot' mode when using NAND-flash.

Subject: About DSP boot mode

Hi,

i wonder the details of DSP self-boot mode.

as i comprehend, "ARM boot DSP mode" needs ARM to configure DSP's power
domain, set
DSP start address, etc. how about DSP self-boot mode? ex: what's the
default DSP start address?
what's the difference between these two modes except the way DSP start?

the document i found like "ARM subsystem reference guide (sprue14a)",
"DSP subsystem reference guide (sprue15)",
only mentioned about "ARM boot DSP mode". are there any document i can
refer to?

thanks for any suggestions.
