We have DM355 system working fine on both Fedora Core 5 and Fedora 8 based 
hosts.

I don't know about the DM355, but for the DM6446 we used CENTOS.

Once we did that, we were able to install everything just fine. FWIW, we run 
Gentoo and VMWARE (CENTOS is a guest).
