Gopi,

I am assuming you are trying to use DaVinci resizer driver on DM355.
This is not possible.

There is a different hardware module to handle the resizer and preview
engine capabilities on DM355 - IPIPE.

We have a separate driver - IPIPE driver for handling both resizer and
preview engine functions.

The sample applications for IPIPE are available with the DVSDK 1.30
release under PSP_##_##_###/examples/dm355/ipipe directory.

Thanks

Sneha

Subject: davinci resizer module

Hi,

I am trying to compile davinci resizer driver as a module in montavista
kernel uImage.
what i am getting is (.o) file instead of (.ko) when i try to do insmod
it says not recognizable format.

I tried to compile the driver as static but when i boot the uImage there
is specific char device in /dev folder.
How would i check that the module was indeed compiled as static? or if i
compile it as module how to get .ko file.
Also do we need to create char file inorder to work on resizing
capabilities of dm355(ex: /dev/davinci_resizer we need to create ?).

Thanks
regds
gopi k
