We intended to interface a DM6467 to two DSPs and an FPGA via PCI in order to transfer data between them, and also allow for expansion with PCI peripherals in the future, if we so desired. There are some well-known issues with the PCI master mode hardware on the DM6467, as well as a lack of master-mode drivers. The drivers we may have been willing to write, but a reply from another list member to my original query stated that TI has no intentions of fixing the hardware bugs. Therefore, we see no reason to struggle with it and will remain on DM6446 and just use VLNYQ for our communication bus. > Or by default the Davici-Davinci thru PCI-drivers interface has some > issues ? Driver availability is the problem ? > Any idea ? Please Share ... Master mode has throughput issues in the hardware (no burst mode, I believe), and no software drivers. If you're looking to transfer video between the two, which I believe was your application, I would suggest using the video port (VPFE/VPBE) interfaces.
