Hello,

Thanks Nicolas for the pointer!.

I was able to successfully flash the u-boot code to NAND flash by following the
instruction given in
http://wiki.davincidsp.com/index.php?title=Flashing_NAND_Flash

Steps I have followed are:

1. Read the wiki page.
2. Go to the ti site to down load the latest u-boot binary for nand flash. In
fact I have down loaded the software from the URL
https://www-a.ti.com/extranet/cm/product/dvevmsw/dspswext/general/v1_20_00.shtml,
(miscellaneous component) after logging in. One needs to have a login access
by registering the DVEVM board .
3. Use Windows machine to run the DVFlash executable
4. Flash the u-boot NAND flash binary (readily available in TI site, misc
component).
5. Reboot the board with correct settings (Jumper 4 and S3 switch settings)
6. Board is up with latest u-boot.

I still have the old u-boot in NOR flash, not touched. I had no bootable
software in NAND flash. I have freshly written the same using DVFlash
executable.
This does not need Code composer studio and JTAG to update the u-boot. Really
very handy!.

Thanks for TI's effort in this direction.

Objet : how to write a serial ubl

I understand that a UBL loaded over serial is loaded at 0x100. Is
there anything else I need to know about a UBL loaded over serial? Are
there special magic numbers that need to be loaded, or will any UBL
made to run from address 0x100 work?

Chris
