Ok, thanks for this informations. In fact also some unionfs users said that it give often 'derefence NULL pointer' errors. I'm now taking a look at aufs that seems more stable, although I didn't compile for dm355 yet (just some tests on my host machine...), and it's not designed for 2.6.10...
