DB2EUG: JDBC driver, backward

I have a DB2 install question.

Given that DB2 client drivers are backward compatible for 1 version and
forward compatible for 2 versions, how do I install DB2 v7 on a server yet
still use the DB2 v6 JDBC driver on the same server?
