Title: RE: DB2EUG: Oracle / UDB terminology cheatsheet

Hi Paul
IBM has a white paper on converting from Oracle to DB2.  It does a pretty good job of comparing the architectures and explaining the terminology differences.  Here is the link to request the white paper.  If you have any problems let me know and I can Email you a copy directly:

Subject: DB2EUG: Oracle / UDB terminology cheatsheet

Has anyone run into a cheatsheet that compares Oracle and UDB
terminology?
For instance, it looks like the Oracle System Global Area (SGA) is quite
similar
to UDB's Database Global Memory.  It also looks like Oracles V$ tables
are
similar to some of UDB's catalog tables.

If you are wondering why anyone would want such a cheatsheet, it is
because I
am in the process of learning Oracle to support some Oracle databases,
in addition
to the UDB ones I am supporting.  I can't help it; my boss assigned me
the task
of learning Oracle (grin).
