Title: RE: DB2EUG: Oracle / UDB terminology cheatsheet

Paul and Janet,
There are a number of whitepapers referenced on the IBM website that may help you.  Most of these are geared towards moving FROM Oracle TO DB2, but have alot of analogies and comparisons that may help.  Here's the link: http://www.ibm.com/solutions/softwaremigration/library.html

Subject: DB2EUG: Oracle / UDB terminology cheatsheet

Has anyone run into a cheatsheet that compares Oracle and UDB
terminology?
For instance, it looks like the Oracle System Global Area (SGA) is quite
similar
to UDB's Database Global Memory.  It also looks like Oracles V$ tables
are
similar to some of UDB's catalog tables.

If you are wondering why anyone would want such a cheatsheet, it is
because I
am in the process of learning Oracle to support some Oracle databases,
in addition
to the UDB ones I am supporting.  I can't help it; my boss assigned me
the task
of learning Oracle (grin).
