Perhaps you could even convince me :) to also allow 4.0, if it works with current 4.0 alpha (though there's no guarantee that the API is stable between alpha and final). Not sure about the configure thingie. Finally, if OOo is built against a too-new-and-incompatible KDE, then this will simply break the build - which is a lot less severe than a runtime-crash (especially since it affects people who probably can easily find out how to fix it).
