In the official OpenOffice.org releases, which can be obtained from
www.openoffice.org, Adabas D works fine. If it doesn't for your distro-specific
OpenOffice.org build, then please report this in your distro's bug tracking 
system.
(Note that this would by far not be the first issue which only happens in a
Debian/Ubuntu/SuSE-build, but not in the official one.)
