Changed this issue from a defect to an RFE.
Here is my rational.
There is no real purpose in having escape processing turned on for a view
definition in SQL mode. The query analyzer can never be used against it at run
time. The only use for the query analyzer then was to parse the statement for
the GUI designer and the user, or possibly the application ( see RFE 87222 ),
negated this use.
The only affect then of running the view definition through the query analyzer
for 'SQL view' is to raise the risk of displaying an error that is meaningless
in the context of databases engine.
