Perhaps we have a terminology problem here: With "commit", do you mean - the "back-end feature" of committing, i.e. as it is used for databases in general: You can set make changes to the data, but unless you call some explicit "commit", this is not persistent OR - the "front-end feature" of committing the content of the form controls to the current database Part of my confusion might result from /me thinking all the time that you meant the latter (since this is also called "commit", at least under the hood), but meanwhile I think you mean the former.
