I am copying data from spreadsheet to Base. The first column I am copying is
formatted as a Date. I have followed the directions as how to do this from the
Base Help . When it is copied to base it is formatted as "Text [VARCHAR]".
This is a repeatable problem. I have not been able to find a solution

I then goto the edit function in Base. I change the Date field from "Text
[VARCHAR]" to DATE [DATE] and save.

I get the following message The Column can not be changed.

The Second issue is all the data that I copied from the spread sheet was copied
as a Text [Varachr] instead of the format of the spread sheet.
