------- Additional comments from [email protected] Sat Feb 20 21:13:22 +0000 2010 ------- Hi there, I found one of the most annoying issues in Base. Like Ms Access it has the same defect (or is it ? - I have some doubts !!). When an identity or auto number field is created then the issue crops up. When you delete record no. 5 in an identity or auto number field, the previous number becomes 4 and the next number becomes 6 instead of 5. Ms Access is very bad regarding this. Can any thing be done in BASE to get rid of the defect ? I do understand that the physical existence of the record is still there somewhere and that makes 6 to appear instead of 5. Can any thing be done to rectify this ? if so, it would be great !!
