And as a geekcruise veteran, let me recommend this highly. Neil has
pulled together Yet Another legendary group of speakers for a
conference onboard the ship, with breathtaking scenery as the backdrop
(and sometimes distraction -- I had a class I taught on PerlWhirl
interrupted by whales breaching just outside the window).

The conference is well-planned, the food is fantastic, the service
superb, and the cost is roughly what you'd pay for a traditional
conference (see http://www.geekcruises.com/standard_interface/boss.html
for help on convincing the boss).

Plus, you get no interruptions from pagers (although web and phone
access is available onboard for the desperate, and nearly every port
has a laptop station with high-speed access for a nominal charge),
*and* you get access to the speakers in the lounges, since we really
can't go anywhere else. {grin}

I'm also co-teaching the "intro to Perl and DBI" course with Tim, so
if you wanted to see me "in the wild", this would be your chance.

(Neil, was that enough for you? Do I get my $5 now? :)
