Did you install the MySQL-client rpm (if you installed through an RPM)? If you did not install MySQL through an RPM, are you trying the absolute location of the mysql binary (i.e. /usr/local/bin/mysql). If I am not mistaken, I think (unless you specified otherwise) that the default installation of MySQL puts the mysql binary in the /usr/bin dir. If you are getting error messages, please forward those along so we can analyse those. Thanks and best of luck.
