Oracle, Apache and Linux

I am Running Apache on a RH7 Linux box.  I have mod_perl installed into
Apache.  I have also installed the DBI and theDBD::Oracle.  They installed
just fine.  I have multiple perl scripts that access the Oracle Database.
After a while my perl scripts (running through Apache) will not be able to
connect to the Oracle Database.  I can still connect using SQL Plus.  
 
Any Ideas
