Two ways.

1.  If you have a third party ODBC installed on Solaris, then set up a DSN
for the db and use DBD::ODBC to connect (see docs).

2.  If you don't have ODBC for Solaris, then you must have it installed and
running on the Windows share, though I am not sure how that is accomplished
and weather this allows you to run windows processes at the same time.  If
you can run the Windows ODBC on that share, then you can use
DBI::ProxyServer and DBD::Proxy to connect.  Also see docs for both of
these.

You must have DBI installed before installing any DBDs.
