Where did you hear that.  I've been on the perl6-internal mailing list for
almost a year and this has never even poped up.  Database connections are
never a part of the language itself, they are almost always provided by
extensions, so it is in Java, C/C++, etc..., so to claim that it will be
build into the language is just plain silly.  

Perl 6 will use DBI and all the DBD's though they will have to be updated to
reflect the new language syntax.
