Easily might be a bug in the DBD::Oracle query parser, which might not look
behind on the state of quotes.  
If someone could tell me exactly where this happens, I can take a look, if
this is a bug or not.

Otherwise I don't see any problems with your script that would cause such a
problem.  I'll test on my system sometime later today.
