Thanks, but I'm using Perl 5.004_04, not ActivePerl, and changing Perl
version is not a trivial issue. For numerous reasons it is also easier
if I am able to build the module from source.

For info: 1.20 appears to be working OK so far, built from the source
tarball downloaded direct from a CPAN mirror, so it must be that
something in 1.201 broke with 5.004_04 (possibly just on Win32 - I
haven't tried on a Unix platform).

(although I'm still having trouble with the MySQL DBD tests, but that's
another issue I hope..)
