Started out writing a perl/cgi script for a small database.
(:-( Error: It wouldn't run because DBI.pm was not found.
Attempted to acquire DBI ...
perl -MCPAN -e 'install Apache::DBI'
(:-(( Error: recommended installing new version CPAN.pm
Attempted to acquire CPAN.pm
perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::CPAN' (also attempted from perl shell)
(:-((( Error:
"I'd recommend removing yes/sources/authors/id/A/AN/ANDK/CPAN-1.59.tar.gz.
It seems to be a bogus file. Maybe you have configured your `urllist' with
a
bad URL. Please check this array with `o conf urllist', and retry."
I remove yes/../CPAN-1.59.tar.gz and try again and the same error occurs
with this file reappearing.
When I look at urllist I find ...
cpan> o conf urllist
urllist [q[ftp://cpan.azc.uam.mx/mirrors/CPAN]]
(:-(((( I'm not sufficiently conversant w/ perl & CPAN or my ISP's Cobalt
Apache system to know what to do next. I don't know if the above
ftp://cpan.azc.uam.mx/mirrors/CPAN is good or bad. I did look up a CPAN
mirror close to me, ftp://cpan.cse.msu.edu/ but don't understand what to do
w/ this information. I presume that urllist is a list that now is in need of
a better CPAN mirror address, but I can't find my urllist.
Any suggestions?
weary wanderer ...
