What was the problem installing from source. As far as I know, that's the only way, unless someone can provide you a binary for your specific machine arch.

One thing to note, is that you must have mysql client libs installed, before trying to compile DBD::Mysql, also don't forget to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point there.
