You probably need the "Developer Tools" disk for your system. This came initially with OS X 10.1 but was not installed. The Developer Tools disk contains a number of utilities, such as the C compiler, that you'll need in installing some Unix software.
The upgrades to 10.1 did not include the "Developer Tool" disk - and the 10.1 version did not work with 10.3 or better - you need the new Developer Tool disk. You can download from Apple or order the CD for about $20. Well, that seems to have changed - I don't see where you can get the CD, but the download is free. You may need to register. http://developer.apple.com/macosx/ -- =========================================================== Nelson Goforth Lighting for Moving Pictures 01.303.322.5042 http://www.earthnet.net/~ngoforth/film
