I have some old source archives for DBI and DBD-Oracle that I think can
compile under 5.00404, but you would get a lot more benefit from getting
Perl up-to-date first.  There have been a lot of security and bug fixes
applied since then.

I can't think of any technical reason you couldn't upgrade Perl, so you
really need to start the paperwork to get the Perl upgraded.  It may take a
year, but it will never happen if you never start the process.
