possible / best vers DBI to Oracle 9i R2 on Linux?

I have been using Perl DBI to access Oracle 8i.

I am migrating to Oracle 9i R2 on RH 7.3.

Is it possible to use use Perl DBI to access Oracle 9i R2 (at least to 
the same level/features as with Oracle 8i)?

If it is possible, what is the recommended combination of versions, etc?
