Dear All,
this mail to put attention to some problems (and solution) about installing
DBI-1.15, DBD-Oracle-1.07 on Perl 5.005_3 shipped with solaris 8, SPARC;
Oracle is 8.1.7.2.
1 - DBI) Perl on solaris was compiled with some cc which is, unfortunately,
no more present on the system. Some other my applications required SUNWspro
(the FORTE C compiler), so I installed it and I put in the PATH the
/opt/SUNWspro/bin, to "make" the DBI. Actually it worked!
2 - DBD) the "make" step had some problems: it fails on the include of some
..h files present in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/demo. I copied 3 files from
$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/public to $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/demo and it worked; the
files are: ociextp.h, nzt.h, nzerror.h;
