FYI,
The solution to the following problem was that vim installs a newer version of the libintl.dll and vim was earlier in the path than sybase.

I've never seen that problem before.
It may be because the version of Open Client on the machine is different
from the one used to build the binary (ie Sybase.dll). I don't really
know how to check that, though.
I'm assuming that you installed DBD::Sybase via ppm, right?
What version of Sybase do you have installed on your client machine?
