good morning, everybody. does anybody have any experience with connecting to this BASIS DataServer thingy?
I have a server here running BASIS visualPro/5 with that dataserver (even though nobody seems to know what exactly the dataserver's supposed to be good for, since they're doing it all via SMB [after spending X $ on it...don't you just love "technical consultants"?!]). My goal is to migrate the database hidden behind that thing to a mysql database, which i have to do via fixed-length exported text fields and SUBSTR() right now, which is no fun at all. thankful for (pointers to) any help, M. P.S.: just out of curiousity: does anybody knowwhether there's ANYTHING useful in this BBX thing? looks awfully like QBasic to me....i simply refuse to believe that somebody actually pays for that...
