Hi

If you can't or wan't compile the source, you can try the following
handicraft solution:
(it works in my environment: AIX 4.3.3 with the distributed version of perl
5.005_03 and the freeware version of DBI 1.14)
1. Download the installp package of the freeware version of perl (You need
because of the dependencies)
and the freeware version of DBI. You find it at
http://www.bullfreeware.com/.
2. I recommend to install on a test system.
3. Look what files and where AIX has installed the DBI package `lslpp -f
freeware.perlDBI.rte`
and compare with the structure of `lslpp -f perl.rte` (contained in the
standard distribution)
4. You'll see there's a slightly difference between these packages.
Now you can copy the installed DBI files in the existing perl structure.
5. You can now remove (if you like) the previous installed packages.

cu Harry
