1.  I am not the sole source of wisdom in the universe, other people in the
list may have something to contribute.  Please don't reply personally
unless you want to hire me.

2.  The garbled result I see looks like exactly what I said.  The JPEG
binary data is being sent in non-binary mode.  This is not a DBI problem.
