If this is after an upgrade you, the shared object is probably trying to link with something that has changed, at runtime. You need to rebuild DBI.so. I would rebuild the entire perl build... and go for 5.6.1 while you are at it.

Hello Tim, and all. I have been attempting DBI/DBD installation for 4 weeks.
After the OS upgrade on my box 5 days ago, I have now taken a step backwards. My current problem is that when I do a "perl Makefile.PL" for the DBD::Oracle installation, it can't find the loadable object for DBI in @INC. Assuming my DBI loadable obj is "DBI.so", it is physically located in the directory "/home/nbdipy2/perllib/lib/site_perl/5.6.0/alpha-dec_osf/auto/DBI" , which doesn't show up in the @INC (see my perl -V in the attached note). Is this my problem? In any event,... how do I get by this error? Can I provide any other information or screenshots?
