Subject: Perl 5.8.0 / DBI 1.25 large data transfer - broken?
Tim,
Sorry to trouble you. Unable to find references to this problem
on the DBI users page/archive (apparently non-searchable)...
My CGI.pm scripts are working well in general, however, fail completely
(hang until killed) when I ask DBI and DBD-Pg to transfer large amounts
of data. (These scripts work fine on old hardware running Perl 5.6.1).
I wrote to Lincoln Stein to see if this was a CGI.pm issue (or if my code
was simply inept) and he responded with this, confirming my experience:

My question is this: is this a general perl 5.8.0 problem that needs
sorting at that level - or is it a (known?) problem for DBI itself?
Again - sorry to take up your time but I am at a loss here.
Cheers,
