Could you tell what does is the problem in this?

The perl that comes with Sol8 is built with Sun's c compiler which you don't have.
Install perl 5.6.1 and gcc packages from www.sunfreeware.com and start again.
BTW - gcc 3.1 is brain damaged - use 2.95 or 3.2
Don't uninstall perl 5.5.3 from Sol8 as the OS has scripts that use it.
