WHO IS SO WISE?

"Can you discover God's hidden secrets,
or are you able to find the Almighty's limits?
God's wisdom is higher than heaven.
What can you do?
It is deeper than the depths of hell.
What can you know?
It is longer than the earth
and wider than the sea.
If God comes along and imprisons someone
and then calls a court into session, who can stop him?
He knows who the scoundrels are.
And when he sees sin, doesn't he pay attention to it?
But an empty-headed person will gain understanding
when a wild donkey is born tame.
"If you want to set your heart right,
then pray to him.
If you're holding on to sin, put it far away,
and don't let injustice live in your tent.
Then you will be able to show your face without being ashamed,
and you will be secure and unafraid.
Then you will forget your misery
and remember it like water that has flowed downstream.
Then your life will be brighter than the noonday sun.
The darkness in your life will become like morning.
You will feel confident because there's hope,
and you will look around and rest in safety.
You will lie down with no one to frighten you,
and many people will try to gain your favor."
Job 11:7-19

Okay, Job lost everything - everything that is except his condemning wife and
accusing friends. This passage of scripture is part of a discourse from one
of Job's "friends." All of this is truth. All of this needs to be taken to
heart. However, when said in the context of telling someone that the tragedies
that happen in their life are a result of God's punishment on them - this is
wrong.

Granted, God does punish sin, but I honestly don't believe there is any sin we
can commit that would cause God to take from us all the things that were
taken away from Job. Rather, the evil one, the prince of darkness, the prince
of this earth, the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy takes these
things from us. He hopes he can destroy our faith in God; as well as our joy.

In Marie Chapian's book, His Thoughts Toward Me, the writing New Choices,
describes for us the way God sees us; she writes as though God is talking to us:

"I have covered you with a holy robe of righteousness. You were the clothing of
salvation. (Do you know what that means?)
Right now, today, at this moment, it means you are saved from the agonized cry
of despair. I have seen all that has happened in your life. I have seen
every person who has walked across your days.
I know.
I see.
I listen.
I AM.
Right now, at this moment, I AM holding you, loving you, comforting you. My
voice is softly singing to you and it is I who lifts your chin, urging you
to take the garland of beauty I give you for the ashes you have been wearing.
Take the perfume of joy instead of the bleak and futile stains of sorrow.
Wear praise like a golden robe and the heavy, burdened and failing spirit will
flee from you."

What else is there to say? I've felt the self-persecuting words Satan has to
offer, I've lived with condemnation.I'd rather live knowing that God loves
and accepts me/you - warts and all!
