"If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving--large or small--it will be used to measure what is given back to you." (Luke 6:38). What is your preference, to give or to receive? I had to ask myself this question and answer it honestly first, before I tried to ask someone else! I love to be on the receiving end of things, which feels so good and satisfying. However, I love to be the one who's giving too, and that's what I prefer. Sponsor Ad After being tried, tested, refined, molded, and a whole lot of shapin' going on in my life, it taught me and continues to teach me how important giving is in my relationship with the Lord Jesus, giving my all to Him. Because I give to Him and He blesses me in return full and overflowing, I can then go help and give to others. "You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive'." (Acts 20:35). While spending time with the Lord, some words that describe giving came into my spirit so strong. To offer, present, yield, submit, and surrender. I found myself with tears flowing down my face telling Him, "All that I have, I give it to You. All that I am, I give to You. What You bless me with I will turn right around and give it back for You to do what You please and choose. In addition, I will continue to do what YOU say and do it YOUR way. I will never hold back from giving unto You." The Holy Spirit then spoke these three words to me, "GIVING IS WORSHIP." Revealed to me was that it's not only about monetary giving, which the Lord does expect and require of us - "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple." (Malachi 3:10), but it's also about the giving of our total self, our all to Him, which He does desire from us. "And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength." (Mark 12:30). The scripture in Luke is a promise to us of blessing from the Lord. Do you want to experience the full blessings (spiritual, financial, physical) of God that are yours and are waiting for you? Then you have to "give all, to be blessed all." PRAYER: Lord, when we give unto You, in return we're graciously blessed by You. Help us to remember that the gifts, tithes, and offerings that we bring and give unto You, are most truly honored when our total self is given too. We love and honor You, Amen.
