It was just a general idea how to implement this workaround in DBIC. I
didn't know that you were able to manipulate SQL::Abstract. In this case of
course it is the right place for such things.

The point is that it's an example of a -different- problem that's largely
already solved by search_literal.

I believe your callback idea is awful; the correct approach will be to
allow
dialect-specific specialisations of SQL::Abstract which we'll get to as
soon
as we have time.
