I only use Pg, so it does the job for me.

meanwhile, is the SQL::Abstract discussion carried on elsewhere? I'd love to at least poke around see what I can contribute.

This is just one example of the problem. search_literal doesn't solve
problems discussed in previous thread

The point is that it's an example of a -different- problem that's largely
already solved by search_literal.

I believe your callback idea is awful; the correct approach will be to allow
dialect-specific specialisations of SQL::Abstract which we'll get to as soon
as we have time.
