Ewald,
MAXCONNECTS is not the number of allowed simultaneous connections, but
the number of connections
after which an imapd child is killed and respawned (i.e.
MaxRequestsPerChild in apache).
The number of simultaneous connections is restricted by the MAXCHILDREN
setting.

Leander

I only want to ask if the setting of 10000 is good as a defalut

That's very high. Use such high values only if you trust dbmail-imapd
not to
suffer from memory leaks :-)
Yes and it's the default in CVS. I did not change anything
I have overseen this and my server had a problem with 7000 Imap
connections
Oh? What kind of problems? I use *low* values for max connections
(like 10 or
20), so imap daemons die often, to be respawned by the parent process.
no the dbmail was running fine but the server was very slow ;)
I noticed this in evolution
My idea was that maybe in the cvs this could be changed to a lower
value.
The Mail server which needs 10000 IMAP connections must be really huge
;)
