Sigh. I've been repeating over and over again that using the auto-reply functionality is unwise exactly for the reason you mention here.

If you want this functionality, at present you are wise to use an external script like the one I posted somewhere in june last year.

Please note that the howto still refers to pre-2.0 user-management using dbmail-adduser instead of dbmail-users.
