Summary: Retrieving right headers, wrong body.
Description:
I have one user with Thunderbird (2.x) who when reading email will
occasionally end up getting the wrong mail body. The headers all look
correct, but the body is wrong.
I have not yet been able to get him to give me a message-source when this
occurs, although I will be asking him to so do.

I went to talk to him, and had him show the message source (we didn't see
all of it, but most of it), and what I saw was that the message body
included both the wrong message and the right message.

Further, using DBMA, I found that that message appears to have some
sections reversed. Basically, after the headers are shown, there is a
piece of base64 (from the file attachment) at the top of the message that
properly belongs at the bottom.

Basically, we have the following arrangement, in DBMA.

HEADERS
--------
base64 chunk from attachment
--------
real message
--------
base64 attachment, minus chunk above.
