The following issue has been CLOSED ====================================================================== http://www.dbmail.org/mantis/view.php?id=657 ====================================================================== Reported By: m2000 Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: DBMail Issue ID: 657 Category: IMAP daemon Reproducibility: unable to reproduce Severity: major Priority: normal Status: closed target: Resolution: open Fixed in Version: ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 26-Nov-07 22:03 CET Last Modified: 05-Feb-08 11:51 CET ====================================================================== Summary: Retrieving right headers, wrong body. Description: I have one user with Thunderbird (2.x) who when reading email will occasionally end up getting the wrong mail body. The headers all look correct, but the body is wrong. I have not yet been able to get him to give me a message-source when this occurs, although I will be asking him to so do. ======================================================================
---------------------------------------------------------------------- m2000 - 26-Nov-07 22:17 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I went to talk to him, and had him show the message source (we didn't look at all of it, but just the first couple screens), and what I saw was that the message body included both the wrong message and the right message. Further, using DBMA, I found that that message appears to have some sections reversed. Basically, after the headers are shown, there is a piece of base64 (from the file attachment) at the top of the message that properly belongs at the bottom. Basically, we have the following arrangement, in DBMA. HEADERS -------- base64 chunk from attachment -------- real message -------- base64 attachment, minus chunk above. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- m2000 - 27-Nov-07 00:54 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This _may_ have some interactions with bulk downloading, or even be related to a corrupted local mailspool on thunderbird, as the user reports that after forcing a re-download of his email, the problem is not occurring with that particular message any longer. However, I am expecting recurrences. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paul - 08-Jan-08 17:10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Can we close this issue? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- m2000 - 09-Jan-08 02:22 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to have an opinion of the result from DBMA, to know if this is a bug in DBMA or possibly a real problem in dbmail. But otherwise, as we have yet to hear any new reports of this problem from our user, yes, I think we can close it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paul - 05-Feb-08 11:51 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- closing then...
