If I read that correctly, you mean the Date: header is completely missing from these emails? If that's the case, the administrative tools that generate the messages are at fault, not dbmail. Mozilla probably just sorts messages by that header, and sounds like it has arguably sane behavior when that header (which is required per rfc 2822) is missing.
